In Gen 5 you don't really need Sunny Day on another Pokémon unless you're deathly afraid of opposing weather setters and you don't think you'll be able to keep Ninetales alive. If you're facing a non-weather team, the Sunny Day moveslot will be wasted.
Leftovers is a legitimate option on Volcarona, especially with the Special Defense boost that Quiver Dance gives. It's also much more reliable than Shell Bell as it activates while you're using Quiver Dance and isn't reliant on your damage output per turn. There are also some less common bulky Volcarona sets that invest in Defense (like your typical Calm Mind user) and potentially also have Roost. Of course, Life Orb is always an option as well.
Type-resist Berries generally are used to give you an extra turn against something you would not normally survive, which you can exploit to get a boost or knock out the offending Pokémon. They are certainly more situational than Leftovers, but they are legitimate options if you have specific opposing Pokémon in mind.
I took overkill boosting into account when making the AI, so it should avoid wasting turns boosting too much.
