I downloaded a water gym by pokenerd and it downloaded as a .snapshot file.
How can I install/place this in my world?

I can try to poke around when I get home tonight to figure out a better answer but let me know if that resource offers any insights in the meantime.

Pixelmon Config.
Enable external files.
Create your things in the new "pixelmon/structures/gyms" file
then NPC's go into pixelmon/npcs/gyms
