#194416 Been working on evolution as we need to be able to extend the evolution animation so it can work in battle and for all people watching. This is the result so far:

#194421 Hm... the beams look good, but I never liked the deform->replace animation. Depending on Pokémon that doesn't work at all. Would it be possible to instead have the evolved model grow from inside the unevolved to then have the latter shrink back into the other? I think that would look much more organic.

#194423 That wouldn't be simple at all in the current code, it's doing a model switch mid way on the same entity, the other approach would be quite difficult as it would need the creation of client side entities which are hard work to use if you want other people to see them rather than just the owner

#194446 Two things I think would improve the visuals. :)

1. Make the beams broader the further out they are from the point of origin. That's also how it usually looks in anime etc. when that effect is applied IIRC.

2. To mask the transition from one model to another, you could do a whiteout of the screen for a brief moment of time. Not necessarily the entire screen - possibly having a white globe expand from point of origin might work as well, not sure.

I highly support this ideas if they are possible and easy to do. Tho, the improvement is remarkable and highly welcomed .

#194455 I agree with you guys, I would add to your ideas the colors of the particles around the evolving Pokemon should be accorded to the type or the principal colors of it.
Exemple: The particles for a Squirtle would be blue. For Bulbasaur green and purple. For Rhygorn different shades of brown.
