With the new skin competitions, you just have to win em all! Here's how you can!
First things first, a skin will need to be made. You obviously can't copy someone else's skin and claim it as your own. Making a Skin will take time and effort, so take this into account before you start.
A good website for skin designing is the Minecraft Skindex ( http://www.minecraftskins.com/ )
Which allows you to make a skin for free and without having to sign up.
Once you access the website you will need to access the editor which can be found on the toolbar at the top of the page.
How to use the Editor.
Here are the most important Tools for skin editing;
Color Selector; Used to select a color your would like to use
Pencil Tool; Basic drawing tool.
Undo & Redo; fairly self-explanatory
Color Picker; used to re-use a color previously used.
Eraser; also fairly self-explanatory.
Brighten & Darken Color; Allows brightening and darkening of the color you are
currently using. Great for shading.
Visible Body Parts; Allows changing of visible body parts on the skin. This helps for getting some parts of the skin that are hidden by other parts. When a Part is highlighted orange it is visible.
Grid On/Grid Off; Enables/Disables the grid surrounding the skin
Download & Upload; Download lets you save your skin to your computer, and upload lets you continue where you left off.
Posting the skin
Once your skin is done you will need to post your skin. The picture you got from the SkinDex is just the skin format. You will need to add a “3D” picture of your skin. Please provide a picture of the front of your skin, and of the back of it.
Here are 3 easy ways of adding your skin to your post.
1. Snipping Tool; with the snipping tool, a program pre-downloaded on most windows PCs, you can capture a picture of something on your screen. (Similar to Gyazo) With this, you can take a screenshot of your skin on the SkinDex Editor!
2. Novaskin; Novaskin is an easy tool that lets you save pictures of your skin. Try it out at http://novaskin.me/
3. Minecraft Skin Viewer; Similar to novaskin, this is a program that allows movement of a skin, and then allows you to save it.
After this, use either Google Picasa, Gyazo or Imgur to host a picture of your skin, and add it to your post on the forum! Good luck!
