Manipulating Item IDs through Forge?

I know item ids are assigned by forge, and we haven't updated in awhile, but I'm trying to stop item id's from changing when updating. What file would I edit to do this? What program should I use to edit the file? Am I over thinking this? Thank you for your time and help.

- 30 Oct 2014 16:22 #139887 I'm unsure as to if there is actually a way to do that. However if you make backups of your level.dat you can copy it back over if your lD'S ever change.
