[7.0.1] Wormholes spawn in water a lot fix completed

Ticket description:
I'm using a teleportation mod in my pack and during one of my prior visits to the savannah I ignored a wormhole.
Just now when I returned, despite being unloaded for 2 irl days and going through a server restart the wormhole is still there.

I bring this up because there is potential for there to be some world-lag if unloaded portals don't despawn like a normal entity would.

Thanks for the report.

I don't think this is going to be an issue, as they should still despawn after 5-10 minutes of actually being active. I'll move it to internal to confirm, though -- keep an eye on the ticket status!

The site wasn't allowing me to add additional details last night so here they are now:
Upon further inspection I've noticed that it seems the portal may or may not just have spawned in the exact same spot facing the same direction three times in a row.

Was this in water, by any chance?

The current recurring total is 7 times (Due to me being in the area for a very long time) in varying positions (within 15 or so blocks of one another) all facing the same direction, and yes, all of them spawning within a small pool of water within a Savannah.

Honestly... Now that I think of it... I don't actually recall a portal spawning anywhere other than in water.

...yup, I've noticed the same thing. I'll put up a new internal ticket for that issue, and will close the old one. I'll also update the title of this ticket so we can re-use it for the underlying issue.

Do we have any updates on this? This was reported two months ago, and it's only getting worse. I'm getting 14 FPS near my base:

Is there at least a way to remove them, with a command or something? And can we disable their generation?
