I did some testing and apparently lucario doesn't get recognised as the steel type, both in STAB damage and being hit by poison moves as well as just being considered as a fighting type. this also seems to have affected breeding too

I have tested this in single player and I am unable to reproduce it. I'd also like to add, that the opposing Pokemon might have used a move, that changes the type of target temporarily.
