Within Minecraft, there are two special furnaces which speed up smelting, but are limited in what they can smelt. The Smoker, for food, and the Blast Furnace, for ores.
These up to half the time it takes to smelt something. However, the Pixelmon ores do not follow this rule.
Replication steps:
Put a piece of vanilla ore (Iron Ore, Gold Ore, Diamond Ore, Redstone Ore, Lapis Lasuli Ore, Coal Ore, Diamond Ore, Emerald Ore, whichever you prefer) into a Blast Furnace, alongside some fuel. See how fast it smelts (according to JEI, 5 seconds per item).
Repeat the above step with a Pixelmon ore (Bauxite Ore, Silicon Ore, Silver Ore, Platinum Ore, whichever you prefer (since the Crystal, Ruby, Sapphire, and Amethyst ores are incompatible for unknown reasons)).
Repeat the above two steps, but with a regular furnace. You will see that the Vanilla Ore smelts slower in a furnace than a blast furnace, but the Pixelmon Ore does not change speed.
