I have npc trainers set up in a gym with all of them being set to stand still and engage. When a player engages with them and the battle ends, (using /endbattle, defeating them, or getting defeated) after the repel effect wears off, the npc will run towards the player.
This does not occur when the npc is set to just stand still. Have not tested on wander and engage or wander.
This will occur no matter what the encounter limit is (unlimited, once, once per player etc.)
