P.S. When you are modeling always use reference models such as bulbapedia pics or pokedex 3d pro because you can see it in different angles to fix whatever problems you have =)

the only problem is that sometimes, the official artwork are drawn in awkward angles. i suggest you use the official artowrk only as a reference to get the feel of how a pokemon looks like and not for angles. use official 3d models for that.

Definitely go with the models, the show is never consistant and not the most accurate.
