It's mandibles... pincers... things should be almost as wide as its head, which me thinks should be a bit bigger.
Like with spinarak, ariados's eyes bulge out of it's head, so i think they should be modeled as well.
The bases of the legs could be a fair bit more slender as well.
The back pair of legs (not on the back, but the functional ones) have more of a pointed knee joint.

I have no idea how ariados keeps it's balance. So weird.
