The server isn't suppose to offline. Due to 3.1.0 bugs, someone was tempted to grab themselves some pokeloot, and causing the server to shut down, while the owner was asleep (He's human too you know).
I believe once the server runs 3.1.1 there will be less down time. Because no more crashes.
