#160912 Night* not Knight. Nights in White Satin was created by The Moody Blues in 1967. Your band is doing a song cover it sounds like, so no, the composer was not talking about Gardevoir. Pokemon didn't even exist during that time. From a site, they gave their opinion of what the song means:
The song is about unfulfilled love from afar, a yearning for a loved one which is not reciprocated or understood.

Also termed “Unrequited Love,” as in a platonic relationship.
