#205549 A couple nights ago I was running through my nether tunnel, and a hostile gastly in the dark picked a fight with me. I clicked Seed Bomb at the speed of light on pure muscle memory. That's when my eyes flicked over to the corner of the screen and I saw the little star next to the enemy health bar.

I killed a shiny gastly because I couldn't immediately tell that it was shiny.

I think that the best move is implementing what the mainline games do: shiny pokemon give off a sparkly effect and little "brrring" noise when they enter battle. If the pokemon is CAPTURABLE, it should prevent inputs for just one second so that the player can't click anything they'd regret.
