I think a really cool feature to reference the Pokémon Animé would be to make the held item 'Black Glasses' appear physically on the Sandile line like the one in the anime.

It could be cool for Squirtle also to reference the Squirtle Squad Leader, but I thought it fit more for the Sandile line with him being dark type and all.

The iconic Squirtle Squad glasses would be neat. We'll have to be careful with visible held items though, because it could open the flood gates to expand that to more and more Pokémon and items. And that would require tons of new models/animations, which are already a bottleneck for us.
