Pixelmon Mod

I have been having problems finding Bauxite. The part the bugs me though is I seem to be doing everything right. I am mining higher than normal about 50-70, focusing on hills and Montains, and I am far away from my starting area in place I can't begin to fathom why anyone would be out that far. I spent 5 hours looking and it turned up nothing. Is it just rare and I need to patient or am I going about my attack in a way that I will never find it. I am using a mixture of branch mining and strip mining to find this stuff. Just letting everyone know.
