On a server i have a base underground. I am trying to breed underground but it is not working can anybody help??

The ranch block looks at the top block for each coordinate, so it's looking at the surface blocks rather than the underground blocks.

ok so i need to fill the roof or the surface with the blocks that i need for breeding
