I've been trying for 8 hours to catch a ditto in the wild (on 4.0.4). Am I just having bad luck or has anyone actually caught one?

As far as I know, it has always been able to spawn in the wild. The spawn rate is just VERY low.

There was a point in time where it did not spawn in the wild and had to be obtained from the cloning machine. I don't recall when that time period is, but for both 3.4 and 4.0.4 it can be found in the wild.
