Pixelmon server 1.8.9 with bukkit plug-ins?

I'm wondering if anybody knows how to get a Pixelmon server on 1.8.9 with bukkit plug-ins. Spigot and Craftbukkit don't seem to support 1.8.9 from what I know.

For 1.8+ plugins you need to switch to Sponge or just use Forge by itself
