Just downloaded pixelmon but it takes up too much memory

Just downloaded pixelmon but it takes up too much memory

- 10 May 2016 22:56 #173428 I just got my computer yesterday and was excited to finally play pixelmon. I downloaded it and when I got into the game, it was super laggy every few seconds. I pressed F3 to find out that the game is taking up 100% of my memory. Is there any way i can allow minecraft to use more of my computer's memory?

My computer specs are i5 processor, 8gb of ram and 1tb hard drive. Thank you for the help.
