Were trying to add pokemon to minecraft not blocky other things

I get that but when the world that is holding these pokemon look one way then this super detailed pokemon model is introduced it just seems off. A lot of the models that I have looked over to get ideas or to see how others handle modeling are super complex and they stick out or are so complex that animations cant be made for them.

On that note, those models look amazing, Im just stating my thoughts on the matter.

Do you even know how animations work before saying that its impossible to make animations for complex models ? It is NOT impossible .

If you don't like the blocky nature of minecraft clashing with models people truly put effort into. I would suggest using a higher resolution texture pack.

This, karrybird makes a great example of this

Ok i may have said it wrong, I love Karrybirds models because of the textures, But like I have seen her say a few times super detailed models (not including textures) just seem out of place. I am nowhere near done with the texture (or model lol), and that exeggcute was just a quick 8-10 min throw together.

Yes I know how animation works, but I admit I am unsure how you guys convert the models and animate them so I could have jumped the gun when I said it was impossible. So I do apologize for that.

And heck I know i am the "new kid" on the block with what 6 posts? so yeah -_-.

Yes karrybird does say that. Your point? His models are great simply great. he has his opinion on detailed models and other people have there own.... but that dosnt change the point that its not "mincrafty blocky rubbish" its just pokemon in minecraft. Oh and btw i love your model its nice :)

This is one of those topics that is just always going to be debated upon. I make very complex models because what I want out if this mod is to have Pokemon in my minecraft game, not necessarily minecraft-themed Pokemon. When I model I am trying to stay true to the artwork despite using only cubes. It's a big challenge, but I love that, because with every model I make I push myself to become better, learn new techniques, and produce something I am truly proud of.

Also, karrybird hasn't once said (that I can remember) that she doesn't like my models or a complex modeling style, just that she prefers to model in her own style. And that's fine, in the end you should work within your own style and let people decide the models they like best. But definitely push yourself in either modeling or texturing, or both if possible. You can definitely have a simple modeling style work, but you have to want the simplicity to be well thought out and not just an excuse for laziness. Karry's models are simple, but they're also intelligently built. My suggestion with this model is to pay special attention to proportions, really think about how to use as few blocks as you can, and then knock out an amazing texture because that's something you can do with simple models. I'll try to give more specific feedback when I can get to an actual computer and not just my phone. Good job so far.

Made the head a little bigger, and started to work more on the texture (so used to using my touch pad for drawing but I busted that...sigh.)
