The sneak key is the button used to descend in creative flight and is also the key that makes you dismount any minecraft mob. However,  this becomes a problem for players when we factor in flying mounts, so a dismount key could allow players to either continue using their sneak key to dismount or use a completely new key, allowing them to use their sneak key to descend if they choose.

- 25 Sep 2023 10:14 #217036 Well sorry to burst your bubble pal, but you clearly didn't understand. I want to use the same key that I use to sneak to descend, this is not possible however because sneaking forces you to dismount.

So yes there is a reason, and I am not the only one who has had this exact Issue where they get used to using their sneak key to descend in creative and the lack of a seperate keybind will litterally get players who have trouble adapting killed.

- 26 Sep 2023 04:42 #217040 I feel like that suggestion would be better to direct at Mojang. Every other dismount in Minecraft uses the crouch keybind - so us handling it differently would be inconsistent with the rest of the game.
