As for a larger scale of possibilities. Think hereby of as example Fabric or Paper? Both versions offer a bit more possibilities in handy mod/plugins for the server.

So far tried combining Paper & Forge already, but it kept crashing the server and had to continuously open a ticket at the hosting to get it fixed. It could be that I was using the wrong method.
