DawnDusk Ore

Dawn/Dusk Ore is a type of ore that can be mined with any pickaxe. If the time is either day or night, the ore looks like regular stone and yields cobblestone when mined. However, mining it at dawn or dusk will instead yield a Dawn Stone shard or Dusk Stone shard respectively. Note that the Silk Touch enchantment always provides an ore block, and can thus be used to stock up on ores for later use.

Certain chunks in Plains, Sunflower Plains, Savanna, Savanna M, Savanna Plateau, and Savanna Plateau M biomes will have large quantities of Dawn/Dusk Ore, but most will be empty. Ores only generate in stone near the surface, at no more than 10 blocks beneath.

Trivia

• Prior to the introduction of Dawn/Dusk ore, distinct blocks for Dawn Stone ore and Dusk Stone ore existed, but could only be obtained by spawning them in. Both of these blocks were removed when Dawn/Dusk Ore was released.
• In the Pixelmon changelog, Dawn/Dusk ore was known as "perpetual transgeometric evolution metalliferous earth", a long-winded description of the properties of Dawn/Dusk ore.
