Trader

A Trader is an NPC who offers to trade a certain Pokémon in exchange for another Pokémon. The Pokémon offered by the trader will always be level 10 with random IVs, growth, nature, and moves (within the Pokémon's level up movepool up to level 10). Unlike the Pokémon games, the traded Pokémon will not gain more experience than normal in battle and its original trainer will be the player who traded with the NPC. Traders spawn randomly throughout the world and can look like any of the NPC trainers, although they are marked as "Trader" instead of having a name and level. After the requested trade is completed, the trader will disappear.

Traders can be customized using the Trainer Editor.

Possible trades

The possible trades that traders will spawn with are mostly based on in-game trades from the Pokémon games. Trivia

• Trades with traders will trigger trade evolutions (except those that require held items). Traders are the only legitimate way to obtain Gengar, Gigalith, Golem, and Machamp in single player.
• As all Pokémon offered by traders are level 10, it is possible to obtain certain Pokémon at lower levels than otherwise possible, i.e. normally evolving at a higher level.
