Metronome is a Normal-type move that randomly selects a move to use. Moves that Metronome cannot select include After You, Bestow, Copycat, Counter, Covet, Destiny Bond, Detect, Endure, Feint, Focus Punch, Follow Me, Helping Hand, Me First, Mimic, Mirror Coat, Mirror Move, Protect, Quash, Quick Guard, Rage Powder, Sleep Talk, Snarl, Snore, Struggle, Switcheroo, Thief, Transform, Trick, and Wide Guard.
