Assist is a Normal-type move that causes the Pokémon to randomly use a move known by another member of the Trainer's party, including fainted Pokémon and Pokémon inside Eggs. If the move is used by a wild Pokémon or if the Pokémon using Assist is the only Pokémon in its Trainer's party, the move will fail. Assist cannot cause the Pokémon to use another Pokémon's Assist, Baneful Bunker, Beak Blast, Belch, Bestow, Bounce, Celebrate, Chatter, Circle Throw, Copycat, Counter, Covet, Destiny Bond, Detect, Dig, Dive, Dragon Tail, Endure, Feint, Fly, Focus Punch, Follow Me, Helping Hand, Hold Hands, King's Shield, Mat Block, Me First, Metronome, Mimic, Mirror Coat, Mirror Move, Nature Power, Phantom Force, Protect, Rage Powder, Roar, Shadow Force, Shell Trap, Sketch, Sky Drop, Sleep Talk, Snatch, Spiky Shield, Spotlight, Struggle, Switcheroo, Thief, Transform, Trick, or Whirlwind.
