Shellos has two different forms that differ in appearance, but do not affect any other aspects of Shellos. The form is maintained when evolving into Gastrodon. Both forms spawn equally randomly, and Shellos cannot change between forms.

Beware of pushing strongly on its squishy body, as it makes a mysterious purple fluid ooze out.
