Ground Gym

The Ground Gym is a Gym that specializes in Ground-type Pokémon. It generates in Mesa (Forge) biomes, alongside a themed village.

Gym

The main Gym structure is built into a hollow terracotta formation that houses several old ruins. A spring on top creates a small waterfall that feeds a pool at the bottom.

Ramshackle wooden walkways lead up along the inside and outside of the structure, which include parkour sections where the player has to jump between wooden beams to get to the next area. These eventually lead to a platform on the central pillar, where the Gym Leader is positioned.

Village

Like any village in the mod, this one generates with a Pokécenter and PokéMart near its center. It also features Daycares and TCG Shops, as well as a number of other houses and farms.

The houses are themed after a western town and mainly consist of darker wood types. Most feature a porch and some incorporate terrain formations similar to the main Gym building. They're connected by dirt paths lined with terracotta spikes and occasionally spruce fences.

Trivia

Ground Gym up to version 8.4.3

Before version 9.0.0 the Ground Gym was a wide tower with a large pillar in its center. A ladder on the outside balcony lead to the second floor, where two movement plates forced players into the center of the room. The timed falls that make up the floor there would then drop players down the central pillar into a mine where they could encounter the Gym Leader. Stone pressure plates opened up a passageway back to the surface.
